Things that I want to do in my lifetime. Even though I’m only 23, it’s never too early to get started achieving dreams (or too late). The list is only going to get longer – especially because I’ll keep adding to this list
.
Things to Write
- Publish a novel – because I’ve want to be a published author
Write a novel about vampires – for being an urban fantasy writer, it seems a fraud not to have written a book about vampires(Completed Nov 28, 2011)- Write a steampunk novel – a fascinating twist on fantasy, not medieval but still historical
Enter a writing contest – and possibly win, but I’ll settle for try(Completed Dec 2, 2011)- Take a class on writing, lord knows, I probably need it
- Take a writer’s retreat (or go someplace pretty cool, and pretend it’s for writing’s sake)
- To not only complete NaNoWriMo, but to have a draft that has at least potential to be longer than 50,000 words
- To share a piece of my writing with people I actually know, and not get incredibly embarrassed
- Consistently add little realistic details to my writing
Places to Travel
Rome – 2,000 years of political intrigue and history(Completed 9/05/2011)Venice – inspiring canals and old brick buildings… hopefully, I will overcome my fear of water(Completed 9/11/2011)- Greece – ancient ruins
- Egypt – more ancient ruins, while avoiding mummies
Paris – Jacqueline Carey’s Kushiel’s Legacy series…(Completed 9/13/2011)London – For tea, and British-ness, and Doctor Who, and more…(Completed 9/19/2011)Cardiff – Torchwood… yeah, I’m a fangirl(Completed 9/17/2011 – and saw Ianto’s Shrine)- Kyoto – ancient cultural centre of Japan
- Russia – I don’t know why, but I’m betting it’s something I read or watched
- Denmark – for the wonderful Danish chocolates
- Scotland – Like most of these places, for a favorite TV show, Monarch of the Glen
- Ireland – Because of the fey
